The market has been slow to start due to many challenges, but with large companies investing heavily and releasing early products, this industry is poised to change very quickly as soon as the right conditions are achieved.

That’s why the INX Digital booth (536) will likely attract a crowd when the annual FASTSIGNS Convention takes place January 18-19 at the George Brown Center in Houston.

SGIA

Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) President & CEO Ford Bowers will launch “Color 2018,” the first in a series of conferences jointly presented by Printing Industries of America (PIA) and SGIA.

While this is the first formal agreement between the two organizations, the arrangement builds on a long history of collaboration on programming, including the Continuous Improvement Conference and legislative activities.

ReproMAX announces the appointment of two new members and new co-chairmen of their Board of Directors for 2018. Jeff Carl, President of The Wide Format Company was named to the board and Gene Klein, CEO of BarkerBlue was named as an advisor to the board. Joe Williamson, Principal of Franklin Imaging in Columbus, Ohio and Chuck Wingard, President of Treetowns Imaging & Color Graphics in Elmhurst, Illinois were named co-chairs of the ReproMAX Board of Directors for 2018.

Avery Dennison Graphics Solutions announced today that the 2018 Wrap Training schedule is available and registration is open. The total number of workshops available has expanded to 44 at more than 35 locations throughout North America. The Basic/Intermediate and Advanced classes will be taught by expert installers Justin Pate of the Wrap Institute and John Duever of Vinyl Images.

Jefferson

The Surface Imaging program at Jefferson is now accepting new degree candidates for 2018-2019, starting May 14, 2018. This is a unique graduate program utilizing a variety of state-of-the-art digital printing technologies at the Center for Excellence in Surface Imaging.

Overnight Prints

Stars from the adult film industry will gather from January 24-27 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas for the annual AVN Adult Entertainment Expo. Easy event printing services from Overnight Prints, a Las Vegas-based print provider, will be available to exhibitors, vendors and presenters hosting an anticipated 30,000 trade attendees and fans.

SGIA

The Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) is currently accepting applications through April 30, 2018, for its annual scholarship program in conjunction with the Specialty Graphic Imaging Foundation (SGIF). With the continued support of donations from endowment investors and industry leaders, the program will now award $2,000 to 15 students, an increase in recipients from 2017.
