New EFI Vutek FabriVU 340i Aqueous Printer

The new EFI™ VUTEk® FabriVU® 340i aqueous dispersed dye-sublimation soft signage printer from Electronics For Imaging (Hall 2.2, Stand B30) leverages new EFI technology, including a new platen and extraction system, that enables in-line heat press sublimation directly from the printer. The printer offers much greater convenience and value, as it is available at a price that is less than the cost of a comparable printer and heat press purchased separately. Plus, the combined printer/heat press system uses less floor space than would be required with separate printing and sublimation stations.

The printer will be shown for the first time at the FESPA Global Print Expo as part of EFI’s leading portfolio of inkjet printer, digital front end, and signage business and production management workflow products.

“This new in-line innovation creates direct-to-fabric prints that are immediately ready for finishing or shipping,” according to Ken Hanulec, vice president of marketing, EFI Inkjet. “By combining two major production steps into one continuous process our customers can drive greater throughput and take full advantage of rapidly growing soft signage and fabric printing market.”

The printer provides the high quality of EFI VUTEk FabriVU aqueous dispersed dye-sub printing – a best-in-class technology based on EFI Reggiani’s 70+ years of innovation in textile printing – and combines it with an efficient industrial heat press offering that sublimates prints at full printer production speeds up to 500 square meters (5,381 square feet) per hour.

Customers who occasionally need to print to transfer paper and then sublimate offline can utilize a special direct-to-paper mode on the VUTEk FabriVU for printing only.
