Caldera Launches SnapRIP+

Company’s RIP solutions integrate Adobe PDF Print Engine.

Big Picture

Caldera has launched SnapRIP+, printing software for photo professionals looking for a productive raster printing solution for Epson, Canon, or HP printers.
SnapRIP+ includes Layout with Compose, a feature allowing users to lay out multiple file elements to create a single project page or job. Users can merge, nest, rotate, and combine different file formats with manual or numeric positioning. SnapRIP+ also includes Step & Repeat and Nest-o-Matik features for optimizing media usage.
SnapRIP+ is upgradable to VisualRIP+, Caldera’s solution for professional large-format print and print-to-cut workflow.

In addition, Caldera has extended its partnership with Adobe, announcing the integration of the Adobe PDF Print Engine into its RIP solutions. The result, reports Caldera, allows PDF files to be rendered natively, without conversion to PostScript, helping to ensure that complex designs and effects—even variable print elements with transparency—are efficiently and reliably reproduced.
