Big Picture

Drytac has introduced the Giclée Coater 44, a compact, water-based flood coater designed for fine-art, canvas, giclée, and photo-print producers. The Giclée Coater 44 accepts cut sheet prints of inkjet canvas or fine-art paper right from the printer without any hardware adjustments or changeovers, according to Drytac. Features include: a programmable Viscosity Conditioning System (to keep coatings viscous on the scraper blade and drip pan); non-stick drip pan to collect excess coating for re-use and clean-up; filtered recirculation system; variable temperature controls; and more. The Giclée Coater 44 accommodates cut sheets up to 44-in. wide; max. coating thickness is 0.5 mil.

The company also has launched ViziPrint Impress, an ultra-clear, adhesive-free, printable PET window film with proprietary suction technology. It’s designed for dry installation of graphics on glass surfaces and indoor and select short-term outdoor applications. The film eliminates bubbling and is unaffected by moisture, Drytac reports. Available in three versions: a 4-mil clear UV; 5-mil clear; and white SEL solvent/latex.
