Big Picture

HP’s new DesignJet Z-series features two models, the Z5600 and the Z2600, with a 6-color ink system for producing P-O-P signage, posters, and more. The company’s Vivid Photo Inks, which are water-, scratch-, and fade-resistant, include red and photo and matte blacks for an expanded gamut.

The DesignJet Z5600 PostScript Printer is a 44-in. multi-roll model offering two automatic roll feeders and print speeds up to 650 sq ft/hr. The DesignJet Z2600 PostScript Printer outputs media up to 24 in. wide at up to 469 sq ft/hr.

Both models feature HP Professional Pantone color emulation for Adobe PostScript/PDF and HP-GL/2 platforms; automatic drop detection and nozzle switching designed to reduce cleaning; and HP DesignJet Click printing software. The software package offers automatic nesting; file error warnings; real-time previews; and driverless and multipage PDF printing.
