Mutoh Unveils SpectroVue VM-10 for ValueJet 1608 HS

Spectrophotometer connects printhead to help automate color calibration.

Big Picture

Mutoh America’s new SpectroVue VM-10 is a miniature integrated spectrophotometer that connects to the printhead of the new ValueJet 1608HS hybrid printer to help automate color calibration.

The SpectroVue design incorporates Mutoh’s DP1 spectral imaging chip and the unit reports both spectral and colorimetric values for any one of 18 pre-programmed standard illuminants or any standard daylight illuminant. Developed by Mutoh’s Advanced Engineering Group, the SpectroVue works well on both rigid and flexible materials, and on glossy and matte surfaces, the company reports. It’s supported by Onyx Graphics’ ProductionHouse and RIPCenter Mutoh Edition software. It will be available in June.
