Three 126-in. models.

Big Picture

Inca Digital has launched the Onset X series of 126-in. flatbed UV inkjet printers. The line features a 25-zone vacuum table, which can be automated to reduce setup time; a UV control system designed to eliminate masking; and a modular ink carriage system that allows users to upgrade from one model to the next at any time.

The Onset X1 prints up to 6027 sq ft/hr and offers eight channels: CMYK, plus the option for light magenta, light cyan, white, and orange. This model is designed for creating retail graphics for settings that require close-up and distance viewing.

The Onset X2 prints up to 7803 sq ft/hr and features a dual-CMYK configuration with the option for six additional channels (LmLcWO). Users also have the choice of uni-directional, bi-directional, or high-quality print modes.

The Onset X3 images up 9687 sq ft/hr and includes three CMYK ink channels, plus the choice of white or orange. The X3 is designed for analog printers who are transitioning to digital and who wish to continue printing long runs. Printheads are available in 14- or 27-pL.

The series, which is distributed exclusively by Fujifilm, accepts media up to 1.97 in. thick. Each model features a new password-protected user interface that allows operators to pre-define job settings; job management tools can also be accessed from the web. Other features include a high-speed shuttering system engineered to protect printheads from UV damage when printing thick substrates; optional automated substrate cleaning; and a roller for corrugated board printing that presses the substrate onto the vacuum bed for improved accuracy.
