RockTenn Acquires National Print Group

RockTenn has acquired National Print Group (NPG, Inc.), the merchandising-displays company and print provider.

Headquartered in Norcross, Georgia, RockTenn is a leading manufacturer of corrugated and consumer packaging. The company has 26,000 employees and operates locations in the US, Canada, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, and China. Its RockTenn Merchandising Displays group provides promotional and permanent merchandising programs including design, manufacturing, fulfillment, and distribution services to consumer product companies and retailers.

“NPG’s focus on retailers, their innovative retail solutions, and large-format printing capability expands our customer base and significantly improves RockTenn’s ability to provide retail insights, innovation, and connectivity to all of our customers,” says Craig Gunckel, executive vice president, RockTenn, and general manager, RockTenn Merchandising Displays.

NPG will operate as RockTenn Retail Solutions. Phil Harris, formerly CEO of NPG, has been named vice president and general manager, RockTenn Retail Solutions. Harris will continue to manage the operations along with his current leadership team, reports RockTenn.

“NPG is a strong strategic fit for us that will strengthen our display business,” says Steve Voorhees, RockTenn’s CEO. “I am excited to have the NPG team join RockTenn and look forward supporting their continued success.”

NPG is headquartered in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and provides a broad range of display products and services to top retailers around the world. The company employs approximately 400 workers and operates two manufacturing facilities in Chattanooga and one in Las Vegas.
